BORN:
North Yorkshire, England

EDUCATION:
School: Queen Elizabeth High School, Kirkby Lonsdale.
University: Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama-BMus Jazz Saxophone.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I love playing Music and listening to music: Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Classical, Funk, Electro Acoustic, Dub step, Soul, Metal, Rock. I like having interesting conversations, meeting new people, seeing new places. Science, Reading, Eating.

1994:
Started messing around on the Piano.

1997:
Began formal piano lessons.

2000:
Began playing the Clarinet

2002-2006:
Began playing the Alto Saxophone, gave up piano and clarinet. Started playing in School bands. At this time I began to listen to and appreciate Jazz.

2006-2007:
Formed my own Jazz Quartet performing all over the North West of England at Weddings, Functions, Restaurants, Gigs.

2008:
Got accepted at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama to study BMus Jazz Saxophone.

2009:
Began my studies with Tommy Smith at the RSAMD. Started gigging and performing in and around Glasgow, playing with people such as Alyn Cosker, Ryan Quigley, Nigel Hitchcock.

2010:
Was asked to be in Jamirrorquai, performed with musicians such as Paul Harrison, Chris Grieve, Mario Caribe.

Selmer reference 54 alto saxophone, Claude Lakey 8* brass mouth piece, Rico Jazz Select 3H Reeds

BORN:
Keighley, Yorkshire

EDUCATION:
Various schools around Bradford, West Yorkshire. Studying geology at Edinburgh University.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Music, mainly trombone, but occasionally piano or double bass. Microwave-oven cuisine. Applying geology to real-life situations.

1997:
Started violin lessons. Lasted about a week before deciding music wasn’t for me.

1999:
Started trombone lessons. Gave it up after a month and vowed never to play the thing again.

2004:
Despite two previous failed attempts at being a musician, I had a sudden urge to play the trombone again. Joined the local brass band where they taught me to play and haven’t looked back since.

2004-2009:
Played for the Hall Royd Brass Band, Shipley, West Yorkshire, and various bands and groups at school.

2009 - Present:
Came to Edinburgh to study geology and look at rocks, joined the University Brass Band and Orchestra. Discovered the many musical groups in Edinburgh, including Jamirrorquai.
