About Us

Dark Ocean is a new approach to the laser gaming entertainment sector.

Born from an informal chat about how we could do just this to a local laser gaming site, two of Dark Ocean`s management team decided it needed to be done from the ground up, employing the latest laser tag technology (Darklight Systems) in a fresh, new themed arena and building. Early investigations into sites brought Ocean Terminal as a possible venue and thus Dark Ocean was duly named as a combination of these two parts.

Subsequently to this initial foray into possible venues, we started talking to the regional representative for Punch taverns who showed us various venues that they owned which were currently not working as licensed premises. Enter the building formerly known as The Abercorn/The Homestead/Mr Q`s/Indigo. This venue provided us with everything we were looking for already built for us, from large and spacious toilet facilities to a purpose built reception area in the shape of the former lounge bar. The building sat in an area that was close to one of the partners hearts as it was the area where he grew up and so provided him with a chance to put something back into the community.

And so we proceeded to site ourselves in this location and thus Dark Ocean began to take shape and develop from an idea which the two of us had, into something of actual substance... Dark Ocean was conceived, soon it would be born.

Dark Ocean, Edinburgh aims to be many things besides a laser gaming venue. We want to be a building young and old can hang out, relax and enjoy the facilities on site, for parents to have a safe place for their children to go after school.
